Before the year is officially over, I wanted to share my annual roundup of top blog posts—AKA the most visited posts I’ve shared since the start of 2018. If you didn’t read my post last year, make sure to stop by my Top 17 Posts in 2017. If you’re curious about what all people found interesting this year, though, keep reading below!
18. 20 of Our Go-to Dinner Meals – I’m pumped this post made the list, because I love the concept of writing down easy meal ideas you make on the regular (but can sometimes forget about). This post has 20 of our most frequently made meals.
17. Justin Timberlake Workout Playlist – If you like Justin Timberlake, you’ll love this playlist. I created it for working out, but I definitely listen to it more than just when I’m breaking a sweat. Songs range from SexyBack and 4 Minutes to Pop and I Want You Back.
16. 5 Reasons to Work Out (That Aren’t About Being Skinny) – We all have our reasons for working out, and I love hearing what gets others motivated. So I shared my top reasons for sticking to a fitness schedule.
15. Viewing Snacks as Small Meals – If you’re ever stumped as to what you should eat for a snack, I highly recommend changing your perspective on what constitutes a snack. “Small meals” can open up so many new possibilities.
14. 15 Tips for Eating Healthy at Restaurants – For those times when you want to eat healthy but are out to eat, I share a variety of tips in this post for how to avoid deceiving meals that may seem good for you but are actually overloaded with calories, sugar, fat, etc. Little changes can make a big difference!
13. Quinoa Protein Bowl – I started making this colorful bowl several years ago. It works well as a make-ahead dish (i.e., work lunch) or for a nutrient-packed meal at home.
12. How to Soft and Hard Boil Eggs – Everyone seems to struggle with peeling hard boiled eggs, which is why I originally wanted to share this post, revealing exactly what I do to create easy-peal hard boiled eggs. Also included, though, is how I like to soft and medium boil eggs for a softer yolk.
11. What I Learned from Doing 30 Days of Yoga – This was a challenge I created late in the summer that I’m so glad I did. As you can see by the title, it involved 30 days of yoga—as short as 10ish minutes and as long as 1.5 hours. It helped me create a habit of doing yoga on a regular basis, and I highly recommend it.
10. What Is Intuitive Eating? – Over the past year, I’ve really started to change the way I think and talk about food. It probably doesn’t seem obvious on here, but the concept of intuitive eating is a big part of the shift in my perspective. I highly recommend checking it out, because it’s such a sustainable and healthy way to view food.
9. Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps – Some foods taste surprisingly good on lettuce wraps. Burgers are one item, and chicken in buffalo sauce is another, especially with carrots, celery, feta, and ranch on top.
8. Toasted Pumpkin Seeds – Although most of us probably aren’t roasting pumpkin seeds at this point in the year, I’m glad a lot of people seemed to get some use out of my go-to seed-roasting recipe this year!
7. Do You Complain a Lot? 6 Ways to Kick the Habit – Complaining tends to drag us down as well as everyone around us. This post is dedicated to adopting a better attitude and getting better about not complaining all the time (like many of us do and may not realize).
6. Meal Planning Hack: Making a Maser List of Go-to Dinners – This is the general idea for #20 on this list. If you’re ever running out of ideas for what you can make for dinner last-minute, it helps to have a list of quick and easy dinners you and your family like. The simple act of writing it all down makes a big difference!
5. Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal – I’ve made this recipe more than any other one I’ve ever shared. It’s simple and easy enough to make every single morning, because that’s exactly what I do.
4. DIY Snack Boxes – Snack time can get boring, which is why I shared the idea of creating combo boxes with a variety of items. Whether you enjoy it as a snack or as a smorgasbord meal, these DIY snack boxes can be a fun way to mix things up.
3. How to Never Run Out of Gift Ideas – It’s fun to see a recipe I just shared within the past month has gained so much traction! If you find yourself scrambling for gift ideas for friends and family for birthdays or holidays, follow my #1 tip for how to always have ideas on deck.
2. Refreshing Green Smoothie with Apple, Celery, and Spinach – Some of the best recipes are those you always have the ingredients for. This is a green smoothie I find, well, refreshing that I pretty much always have the produce on hand to make. Apple, celery, and spinach contribute to the vivid color and delicious flavor.
1. Maple Vanilla Granola – If you’re looking for a crunchy and addicting granola recipe, try this one. The magic of this recipe is in the maple syrup and vanilla. It creates the most amazing aroma and flavor. Ever since I started making this granola, I haven’t felt the need to come up with any others. It completes all my granola needs.
And that rounds out my top 18 blog posts for the year! Hope you’ve enjoyed all my recipes, fitness topics, and “favorites” posts. Enjoy the last weekend of 2018!
