A Few of My Favorite Things

July 31, 2013 by Katie

I’m in zombie mode today. I guess that’s what happens when you go to a bar with coworkers on a Tuesday night and don’t get to bed until super late. (Worth it.) It’s days like today that I consider returning to my love of caffeine. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before I switch…

Hiking Adventures + Running on the Beach

July 29, 2013 by Katie

This past weekend was chock-full of activities—aka it was awesome. As you can see from the title, we went hiking and ran on the beach! We haven’t gone hiking in ages, so it was nice to get out there and test my fear of heights… Seriously though, I’m usually good with heights, but the steep…

A Few of My Favorite Things

July 24, 2013 by Katie

I just want you all to know that I’m drinking a $3.32 bottle of wine right now. No, I’m not consuming alcohol at 6am—I wrote this post last night. The sad part is…it’s not too shabby. I think I’ve gotten used to super cheap wine and don’t know the difference between good and bad wine…

Runner’s Jealousy

July 19, 2013 by Katie

Today, I would like to discuss a disease I have developed over the course of the last five years: Runner’s Jealousy. I’m not talking about the running comparison trap, where I want to be super fast and run a million races like some crazy people out there. It’s more of a…you’re running; therefore, I should…

How NOT to Prepare for a Mud Run

June 7, 2013 by Katie

Workout Yesterday: 30-minute walk/run (note to self: don’t run right after dinner) Today: I want to feel the burn. What does that mean? My Lean Legs Circuit, Feel the Burn Abs Circuit, and Toned Arms & Shoulders are on the books—aka workouts that never fail to make me sore. Happy Happy Friday, All! Seeing as…

Camp Pendleton Mud Run Pics + Review

June 3, 2013 by Katie

Oh hey! I have some blurry, muddy pictures for you guys! I’ve only gotten about half the pictures so far, and I believe these were taken on a phone. They’re not the best quality, but they get the job done… We’re really cool with our war paint. And we’re so clean. Those would be the…

15 of the Best Wordpress Plugins for Bloggers

Workout Wednesday: I ended up whipping up the following treadmill workout in like 15 seconds, and it actually turned out to be pretty awesome. The speed and incline jumps around quite randomly, hence the name “Mix It Up”. Try it out, yo. Yesterday: I did PBFingers’ Super Sweaty Ab Circuit plus some more core work….

April 29, 2013 by Katie

I registered for the Camp Pendleton World Famous Mud Run 10k. Thanks to a Living Social deal for half off this race, Matt and I both signed up for the race June 9th. It’s 6.2 miles of obstacles and mud and marines. Basically, I’m really excited yet so scared. Here’s the video they have on…

My Favorite Things

April 24, 2013 by Katie

So I whipped up some treadmill magic last night, and it felt amazing. I think it’s safe to say this my new favorite running interval workout. By increasing the speed by .1 every minute, I got up to 7 at a certain point. Overall, it was challenging yet doable.   Tonight, I’m planning to combine a…

New Addition to the Family

April 22, 2013 by Katie

What is this addition you ask? I’ll give you some hints: It breathes air, was $5, looks red, and is the second letter of the Greek alphabet. Say hello to… Mr. No Name, the Beta fish. Aka we haven’t named it yet. Does anyone else have a major problem with naming pets? I’ve had fish…

Our Scary & Exciting Trip to Vegas

April 15, 2013 by Katie

Before I get into my Vegas recap, I just wanted to encourage everyone to keep the families and victims of the Boston Marathon bombings in your prayers. I know some of the bloggers I read were running in it, so I’m praying they’re all okay. I’m anxious to hear what they have to say about…

Ello, my friends! Can you believe April is one week away and Easter is this coming Sunday? I just realized all of this last night. Hopefully this means spring is around the corner. And by spring, I mean real spring—not snowy spring, which I know a lot of you are experiencing right now in the…

The Burnt, Obnoxious, and Green

March 18, 2013 by Katie

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya! How was your St. Patty’s Day?! Mine was spent like a true Irish gal… …getting burnt. Matt and I met up with some people for some beach volleyball. It was a bit chilly, though, with the sun only coming out when we were leaving. Oh well. Can’t complain when we’re…
