This weekend marks a big milestone for me: it’s the 7th anniversary of Gettin’ My Healthy On! And what’s even crazier is I’m really close to hitting my 1,000th post—something I can’t even fathom right now.
I’ve learned a lot in every season of my blogging career—from picking up technical and creative skills to discovering more about myself. So I think each year has served a special purpose. These days, I’m much more relaxed about this blog, as you can probably tell by my recent change to only blogging once weekly.
Not too much has changed since I reflected in my 6-year blogging anniversary post. I still love having this outlet to post new recipes, talk about health topics, and just share more about my life, but I’m not too concerned about site traffic and making money. This might seem a bit counterintuitive, because you’d think I’d care more about profiting off such a time-consuming “hobby” and writing about what others will click to read.
I’ve learned over the past 2 years, in particular, that I’m just not that type of blogger anymore. While I still want to inspire others to lead a healthy life, this space is much more for myself these days. I refer back to my old recipes constantly, and looking at a lot of my posts just makes me happy. Planning and creating these posts can be a lot of work, but after 7 years…I guess you could say I’ve gotten used to it. 😉
Looking back at this past year, here are the top posts and recipes that I’ve shared.

Happy blog-iversary!!! I’ve tried several of your recipes over the years (THANK YOU!!), but one of the biggest hits has been the cranberry salsa! People are always BLOWN AWAY and surprised by how much they like it haha
As for a favorite post, I’d have a really tough time deciding, but a couple posts I’ve pinned for myself include “3 Self-Care Rules to Follow This Holiday Season” and “10 Ways to Wake Up When You’re Tired”, so apparently those are among my favorites haha
I love following your posts! I’m glad you’re taking it in a direction that lets you focus more on just blogging for yourself! Congrats on 7 years!!
