This mixed berry smoothie bowl combines frozen blueberries, strawberries, and cranberries for an antioxidant-rich base for your favorite toppings.
Smoothies are great and all, but if you have a little extra time, I think smoothie bowls are so much better. Why? Because of the toppings. Eating smoothies in bowl form allows for you to get artsy with your food, add some texture, and just make an otherwise plain smoothie more exciting. Plus, they’re an easier form of acai bowls (unless you always have acai puree on hand; I know I don’t).
Whenever I’m craving a healthy boost, I think of smoothies โ especially my protein spinach smoothie. Since I also make my berry spinach smoothie all the time, I figured it was time to make a smoothie bowl version. This one is similar yet different. For one, there is no spinach. The rest of the ingredients are basically the same.
When making smoothie bowls, make sure you don’t overdo it on the water. Depending on your blender, you may need more or less to get things moving. (This is my #3 tip on how to make a smoothie bowl โ which, make sure you check out if you need tips on how to ensure you get a thick base that actually supports your toppings.)
