10 Oatmeal Recipes for a Filling Breakfast

January 14, 2019 by Katie

Happy Monday! Time to get back to the grind, which means a lot of us are going back to our weekly routines. I tend to start every day of the week with a filling breakfast that’s packed with whole grains, healthy fats, and protein.

Oatmeal is the one breakfast food that I feel great about because I know it’s healthy and can consistently keep up with making/eating it. Although I love cereal, it tends to not be as nutritious, and eggs I just don’t have the motivation to make on a daily basis (though I definitely have them for lunch a LOT). Oatmeal, though? Oatmeal is my jam.

Anytime someone says they don’t like oatmeal, I definitely get it. It can be mushy and just very bland if you don’t make it right. That’s why I always try to incorporate some sort of fresh ingredient (i.e., fruit) and crunchy ingredient (i.e., nuts). The variations tend to vary (though my 1st recipe on this list is my go-to), but I think they’re all delish.

Scroll down through the different oatmeal recipes I’ve shared in the past, including your classic oatmeal in a bowl as well as baked oatmeal (plus a bonus recipe that’s not quite oatmeal but can be treated the same way).

1. Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal:

2. Egg White Oatmeal:

3. Coconut Almond Baked Oatmeal:

4. Vanilla Almond Steel Cut Oatmeal:

5. Apple Spice Baked Oatmeal Cups:

6. Blueberry Coconut Overnight Oats:

7. Pumpkin Pie Overnight Oats:

8. PB&J Overnight Oats:

9. Banana Walnut Overnight Oats:

10. Dark Chocolate Almond Oatmeal:

Bonus: Strawberry Vanilla Breakfast Quinoa :

Okay, that last one isn’t technically “oatmeal” since it doesn’t use oats, but I thought it was worth mentioning because quinoa makes for a surprisingly good alternative!

I hope some of my oatmeal recipes inspired you to try something new for your future breakfasts! I tend to be a creature of habit, but once in awhile it’s fun to try different ingredients and topping combos. Enjoy!

Oo thanks! A couple were painful to share because I really need to update their pics haha, but I’m glad the list looks good overall. 🙂
