Dip small orange slices in melted chocolate for an easy dessert that’s juicy and sweet.
Chocolate and orange is an underrate flavor combo. The first time I made these chocolate-dipped orange slices, I couldn’t believe how unbelievably good they were…considering it was just two ingredients. The juiciness of the oranges and richness of the chocolate just took me to food heaven.
This is one of the random recipes I like to make using the best ingredient ever: chocolate chips. Just like my Dark Chocolate Bark, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, and Apple Nachos, these chocolate-covered orange slices are an extremely easy dessert that uses minimal ingredients.
Just melt some chocolate, dip the peeled oranges, and voila! You’ve got a surprisingly delicious dessert. I’ve only made these for a little treat to keep around the house, but considering oranges are in season right now (and we could all use a boost of vitamin C during the winter), I think these would make the perfect sweet snack to put out when family and friends come over for holiday gatherings.
It might not sound too groundbreaking because…it’s just oranges and chocolate. But don’t underestimate these flavors and textures! They’re a classic combo for a reason. Hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 3 small oranges (i.e., cuties, clementines, mandarin, etc.)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Cover a baking sheet or cutting board (any flat surface you can move) with parchment paper.
- Peel the oranges and remove any large pieces of the white pith. Set the slices aside.
- In a small bowl, microwave the chocolate chips for 15-30 seconds, or until they are smooth when stirred.
- Dip each orange slice halfway into the melted chocolate. Set them on the prepared baking sheet, and refrigerate for about 15 minutes, or until the chocolate has solidified.
