Time to bust out the sunscreen and start grilling all the foods—summer’s almost here!
As May’s on its way out, I’m sharing a bunch of my favorite things from the past month. Keep reading to see them all!
May Favorites
Anniversary – As I mentioned in my Monthly Date Nights post, May is our anniversary month! It’s only been a few years since our wedding, but we’re already extremely chill about it—probably because we’ve never done more than a meal out to celebrate our dating anniversary in the past. To celebrate this year’s wedding anniversary, we…don’t even remember what we did. Bahaha. Maybe we’re too chill about it? What we DO remember is enjoying a greasy pizza, bottle of champagne, and movie together at home (which we decided on the last night of our honeymoon in San Francisco would be a tradition). Since I didn’t document our pizza and champ, here’s a pic from the amazing date day Matt planned for me this month.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine – We always knew we’d like this show but just never committed to starting it—that is, until we heard Fox was canceling it. I created a Hulu account for the sole purpose of streaming this show, and now that it is returning for another season, Matt and I are pumped. Turns out we kind of love this show after all!
Boochcraft – This is the love child of beer and kombucha. I saw this brand on a beer menu at a restaurant we went to, and I was too intrigued not to try it (more specifically, the “Ginger + Lime + Rosehip” flavor). It reminded me much more of kombucha than beer, but I really liked the change of pace. After looking at a few stores to try this again, I finally found it and had to buy it. It’s definitely not cheap, but it’s a fun treat once in awhile. The one I bought was the “Grapefruit + Hibiscus + Heather.” I can’t wait to try some more in the future!
Fade Away by Rebelution – So I’ve been in an intense reggae-loving place lately—like the SoCal-esque reggae. This is one of the songs (and artists) I can’t get enough of.
Layered Gold Chokers – I’ve started to really like this whole choker trend thing. It’s been awhile since I wore those stretchy black chokers from the 90s, but I’m liking the different styles I’ve been seeing around. I got this set of three from Francesca’s in the mall.
Petco Field Cutwater Suites – If you’re ever in San Diego and want to go to a Padre’s game, I highly recommend buying the cheapest tickets possible, being one of the first ones to enter the stadium when it opens, and then making your way over to the Cutwater Suites. In my opinion, this is the best-kept secret of Petco Park. You just need tickets to get into the stadium; after that, you can sit in the comfy seats here for free (ignoring your actual seats) and enjoy Cutwater Spirits (and other drinks) as well as fresh seafood. It’s pretty luxurious, let me tell you.
Bodybuilding.com Exercise Database – If you want to create a workout focusing on specific areas of the body, I highly recommend checking out bodybuilding.com’s database of exercises. While my exercise guide acts as more of a reference of how to do certain exercises, the bodybuilding.com one is a great research tool (which also has helpful diagrams and videos).
Vanilla Milkshakes – Shout-out to all my fellow vanilla ice cream lovers! Matt makes fun of me for this, but I’ve always loved plain chocolate or plain vanilla milkshakes. The crazy flavors are overrated, in my opinion. I just love the pure goodness of the classic flavors. It reallys shows you the quality of the ice cream. (This little shake is from In-N-Out. Yum.)
