You Can Never Have Too Many Dresses + Training Update

April 21, 2014 by Katie

Although I can randomly be very girly, I kind of hate shopping.

Dealing with horrible San Diego parking lots (or lack of), squeezing through crowds, not being able to find what you need – I just don’t find it to be the most enjoyable activity. However, lately, that has not been the case.

In case you weren’t aware, Old Navy had a 30% off of everything sale this past weekend, and they have a bunch of new dresses. Therefore, I went to Old Navy…because I absolutely love dresses…and sales (even though if you buy enough, the whole “sale” idea doesn’t make a difference).

Since I have a bunch of friends’ weddings coming up, I justified the purchase of a couple dresses. The following maxi dress is probably my favorite (and I even hemmed it a wee bit since I’m slightly short, so that means I mean business):

Moral of the story: maxi dresses — they are awesome.

Next order of business…

Half Marathon Training

I have been dreading yesterday’s run for quite awhile now, but I’m happy to report that I survived the 13 miles. (You better believe I went through all the long run emotions.) The run was kind of horrible overall, but like usual after a long run, I was feeling pretty good the rest of the day…so, there’s that.

(My soaked visor shows just hard I was worked. Sorry if you think that’s gross, but running isn’t always sunshine and puppies. I’m just saying.)

I’m pretty excited that the longest run I have from now until the race (in less than 2 weeks!) is 8 miles, so it’s pretty smooth sailing from here. My time in yesterday’s run was 1:58:26 for an average pace of 9:06. I was pretty pleased with it. My overall goal with this half marathon is to beat my first (/only other half marathon) time, which was about 2 hours and 10 minutes, so I should definitely be able to do it. Woo!

Hope you all enjoyed your Easter!

Questions for you:

For those of you who celebrate Easter, how did you spend the day?

What’s one clothing item you can never have enough of?

Anyone else in the middle of race training? How’s it going?
