So guess what… This coming March, I will be running in the ASICS LA Marathon!!!
This will be numero dos for me, with my first 26.2 being the Surf City Marathon two years ago. Last year, I was questioning whether I’d ever run a second marathon ever, but the people at ASICS recently approached me with an offer too good to refuse! Therefore, I’m proud to announce I will be part of the Team ASICS Challenge for this year’s LA Marathon. (I feel like Jessie Spano on caffeine pills right now.)
My training started for this..oh..like two weeks ago. So uh..ya, slightly really super scared about that aspect of the running another marathon thing. HOWEVER, I’ve been so pumped for this intense challenge and have been SO ready to commit myself to something like this. Unfortunately, I’m dealing with some pain in both of my knees (different areas) that is preventing me from even running right now (SO ANGRY), so I’m doing my best to rest, ice, and stretch like there’s no tomorrow.
What comforts me is the fact that I only got up to 15 miles before my last marathon, due to a spout of HORRIBLE FLU a month beforehand. I actually have no idea how I ran 11.2 miles more than I ever had before without getting injured. So uh..I’m going try my absolute hardest to progress with training and create a more realistic mileage base to, if anything, calm my mind for this marathon.
Since I’m being sponsored for this race by ASICS, I am PROUDLY wearing all things ASICS, and you could say I’m in a heaven-like state as a result. I need all the things. They’ve sent me a boatload of goods that I am pumped to try out and sport for this marathon.
As part of this ASICS challenge, I’m with a group of other running bloggers. We’re all following (or trying to) a training plan provided by the running coach provided by us, who we can also use as a resource which is kind of awesome.
OH, and Matt’s running the marathon with me as well!!! Well..not with me…but at the same time as me. He was my photographer at my first marathon, so I’m excited he gets to join in on the “fun” this time. It’ll be a rough couple months of training since this all happened so fast but WOOOOOO!!!!! Here goes nothing!

How exciting!! I can’t wait to follow your training!
I was sick the day of my only 26.2 in San Diego in 1999 (when you were but a fetus 😉 ).
