It has begun. Hope you are all having a SPLENDIFEROUS start to new year! Helloooooo, 2013! Be kind to me. Please and thank you.
I’m starting it out not-so-right by not working out for a change. ‘Tis a day full of traveling, so I don’t have the time! I’ve planned around it, though, so it’s all good. I know you are all oh so concerned.
How was your New Year’s Eve? Mine was absolutely wonderful! Unfortunately, since I’m busy travelling for the next few days, I can’t spend much time in zee blog world. I’ll throw out a recap asap, though (assuming you are even slightly interested in my life…).
Now onto the sugary goodness…
Today, you get 3 recipes for the price of 1 post. I made these for Matt’s parents and thought I’d share the very common and delicious recipes with you.
I was proud of my little tin of variety…
Chocolate-Covered Pretzels
Ingredients:
Chocolate Almond Bark
Vanilla Almond Bark
Pretzels
Directions:
Melt almond bark of choice in microwave for 90 seconds and then in 15 second increments until thoroughly melted. Using tongs, dip pretzels in melted chocolate, letting excess drip off. (You can also drizzle the chocolate on the pretzels instead.) Then set on wax paper to harden.
Chocolate-Covered Peanut Butter Crackers
Ingredients:
Ritz crackers
Peanut Butter
Chocolate Almond Bark
Directions:
1. Put a small amount of peanut butter between 2 Ritz crackers to make sandwiches.
2. Melt almond bark in microwave for 90 seconds and then in 15 second increments until thoroughly melted. Using tongs, dip the peanut butter sandwiches in the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Then set on wax paper to harden.
3. Optional: Melt vanilla chocolate bark and drizzle on finished chocolate-covered peanut butter crackers. (I melt it, put it in a ziplog bag, and then cut a tiny hole in the corner to create a cheap piping bag.
Rolo Turtles
Ingredients:
Pretzels
Rolos
Pecans, halved
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Line pretzels on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Put a rolo in the center of each pretzel, and bake for a few minutes until the Rolo can easily be flattened.
3. Once heated enough, push down on each rolo with a pecan half and let cool.
Have a lovely 1/1/13!!

Do it! They’re strangely good for how simple they are.
