You know when you’re completely rocking a healthy diet, and then out of nowhere, you eat an entire batch of cookies and can’t stop eating chocolate and other junk?
Ya, I totally didn’t do that this past week. ๐
Okay, I may or may not have devoured all the sugar in our house.
I’ve been following the LiveFit nutrition plan like a friggin boss for the bodybuilding program’s first four weeks. Once I entered phase 2 (of 3), all the extremely healthy meals I was eating were suddenly repulsive.
Out of nowhere, I realized how utterly sick I was of restricting myself to only eating very basic foods, completely cutting out all little indulgences. To be honest, I think I was so focused on the prize at first that I was willing to sacrifice the joy of food to get there. This caused me to be unnecessarily strict, not keeping enough wiggle room to establish a healthy diet I could maintain.
New goal? Follow the nutrition plan and find healthier ways to indulge regularly (instead of never indulging and then spontaneously eating #AllTheThings because my sweet tooth is being deprived.) Part of my food philosophy is not restricting myself, but rather…just being in control and limiting the bad. So, I think the fact i’ve been so strict with myself has driven me crazy.
If you often find yourself in moments of weakness like me, today’s quote is for you.
This is your friendly reminder to live in the present. Don’t dwell on the past; don’t stress about the future. The only thing we can control is how we live now.ย For yours truly, that means working on sticking to today’s structured day of healthy eating. Although this is part of a bigger goal I’m working towards (i.e. seeing optimal progress at the end of LiveFit), it’s much easier to take baby steps towards that.
After all, little goals lead to big results!
What are some goals you’re currently working towardsโhealth-related or not?
How will you focus on the next 24 hours to get to where you want to be?
