What is this addition you ask? I’ll give you some hints:
It breathes air, was $5, looks red, and is the second letter of the Greek alphabet.
Say hello to… Mr. No Name, the Beta fish. Aka we haven’t named it yet.
Does anyone else have a major problem with naming pets? I’ve had fish who died before I had the chance to name them before. It’s a bit ridiculous. I just don’t like committing to names. That’s all. Hopefully we can think of one soon.
When we were in line getting ready to buy it, there was a guy in front of us buying stuff for his Husky puppy. It was so sad because our Beta fish was soooo not exciting compared to the insane cuteness of this puppy. We tried not to let the fish know though. Not the best first impression as parents, ya know?
Other exciting things that happened this weekend…
Saturday
Went to the San Diego Farmer’s Market downtown!
It was quite enjoyable. We like wandering and trying samples. We visited the food vendors, which we never do, and bought some deliciousness. Matt got the most amazing meaty crepe concoction. I was jealous, so I decided to get a Brie, turkey, and spinach Panini (pictured above) that also had some crazy-awesome sauce.
Matt also bought a tea ball, mango tea leaves, and a bundle of blood oranges. Yay for supporting the local economy!
Later that day, I demanded we go to DSW because I had a $10 coupon. I ended up getting a pair of my most favoritest sandals on this earth. Teva Olowahu sandals are seriously THE best. The picture on the left are my new ones. The two pairs on the right are me showing you how loyal I am to the brand. Can’t get enough. They’re so darn comfy and cute.
Then I repotted my kickass tomato plant because it’s growing so beautifully! Can’t wait for the day I get some glorious tomatoes from it!
Sunday
Went to the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial, which was pretty. There was a huge cross, lots of veteran plaques, and…
An amazing view. (Please notice the couple making out in this picture. It was awkward. And they were in a lot of people’s pictures because…they’re kind of in the way of the city.)
Also, apparently baseball hats make my ears stick out. It’s hot.
Workout
Laziness on Saturday (turned into my rest day).
Did the following workout on Sunday, which was a nice change of pace since I rarely mess around much with the treadmill incline:
It took me about 1.63 miles. ‘Twas sad when considering it contributes very little to my weekly running mileage, but it was still a good, quick workout.
Today, a full body circuit is on the books. I’m thinking I’ll try out this 5-4-3-2-1 at Home Workout that I’ve had pinned forever on my Pinterest workout board. It’s only 15 minutes, though, so I might add some Elliptical time.
Questions for you:
Any ideas for a name for our Beta fish? Please help!
Are you loyal to any brands in particular?
Have you ever been to a Farmer’s Market?
Katie @ KatieEnPursuit says
Oh I love San Diego! I travel there for work a few times a year & would love to checkout the farmers market! The best one I’ve been to is in Boulder, it’s massive. So fun to have a new low maintenance pet, fish are underrated. Looks like you had a fab weekend 🙂
Katie says
Fab indeed! I’d definitely recommend the Farmer’s Market the next time you visit. There are a lot of cool things! Plus, it’s nice to walk around and venture to the bay while you’re so close.
Ash says
You could name him “Chris” – in memory of what you could call his fallen brother, Luda.
Katie says
Hahaha I totally forgot I named a fish Luda! Nothing will compare.
David Padfield says
Would it be OK if I just told the fish “hello” instead of cursing at him? That was a typo in the third paragraph wasn’t it?
Katie says
Haha wow. Took me forever to find what you were talking about. Yes, it was supposed to be hellOOOOO. My bad
Pam says
I may be buying a pair of those sandals tomorrow. Definitely need to have comfier shoes for this summer, and they are the only flip flops I have found that have any support. Just a little worried how they will handle my feet swelling. I always think of you when I see those sandals.
Katie says
Haha aww. Well now I wear them even more than before since I have more colors. I’d definitely recommend getting a pair. I don’t have any experience with swelling feet, but I can’t imagine they’d be too horrible. Guess you’ll just have to see for yourself!
