Workouts

Monday: Dumbbell Circuit
Tuesday: Impromptu rest day to go camera shopping…
Today: Either a treadmill run or elliptical workout

Santa came early for Matt and I this year.

…and when I say Santa, I mean we made a trip to Best Buy.

Check it out! We got our very own fancy DSLR? camera last night. For pretty much the past year, Matt and I have been planning to put our money together and buy a quality camera for Christmas. Last night we decided to take advantage of the holiday sales and made the purchase! After spending quite a bit of time considering our options, we finally decided on the Canon EOS Rebel T3i EOS 600D — (whatever that means). I know absolutely nothing about these cameras, so I just let the boy do his thing. We also got a telephoto lens because Matt really wants to be able to shoot sports and other fun from far distances.

Since we got it later last night, I haven’t had much of a chance to play with it, plus Matt was hogging it the whole time. Instead, I spent some quality time reading the manual because I’m part of that 1% of people who actually reads instructions. When I get excited about a product and am not able to actually use it, I will read the manual, and I will be oddly entertained by it.

I’m currently on chapter 3, and yes, I feel quite informed. I guess now that I have a good camera, I can’t blame my camera phone for the ridiculously poor picture quality I feature on Gettin’ My Healthy On. Hmmm…

Crossing my fingers I’ll actually learn how to take a decent picture! Keep reading for a list of other fun things I’ve been loving lately.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

DIY: Vintage Button Necklace. I like buttons, and I like making jewelry. I’m thinking this will be one of my next DIY projects because it’s so simple and cute! I just need to find some cute buttons now…

Website: Unroll.Me. I just found this site last week and was absolutely amazed. You type in your email address, and it makes a list of all the subscription services you’re a part of. You can then choose to remove yourself from any list you want and voila! A decrease of spam emails. Ohhh yeahhhh.

Recipe: Broccoli & Pea Pesto Pasta. Not going to lie…his freaks me out a little. It’s really intrigues me though. I get sick of straight-up marinara, and I try to keep alfredo to a minimum, so this strange veggie concoction may be my next strange cooking endeavor. Seems like a good way to get some veggies in!

Trend: How to Tie a Fancy Braid Scarf. So this scarf thing. I like them, but I feel like they always look awkward on me. While at a store within the past week or two, I saw a display that had the scarf tied like the one below, and I fell in love. If you click on the link above, it takes you to a tutorial, and braiding the scarf really isn’t too complicated. The style seems like a nice way to mix things up.

Song: Ones and Zeros by Jack Johnson. This song is on his latest album From Here to Now to You, which I’ve been really enjoying lately. Jack Johnson just makes me happy. He’s all…bubbly and chill. This song is one of my favorites from the album because it’s very soothing.

Questions for you:

What kind of camera do you use? On your phone? Point and shoot? Do you draw your surroundings?

Favorite song right at this exact moment…go!

I have the T3i as well! I got it two years ago and am still learning how to use it! DLSRs are really complex, you never stop learning, it is mostly trial and error…and frustration. Non of the info I read ever sticks!
