Do you ever just crave to challenge a certain body area during a workout? I sometimes get like this, usually because I haven’t focused on the area in awhile. Well this past week, I was really in the mood for an intense core workout.
I wanted a bunch of burn-so-good ab exercises in one crazy circuit workout. So I threw together a couple tried-and-true moves along with a few new-to-me ones—because I’m always looking to mix up my usual workout routines. This new circuit definitely did the trick.
It’s one of those workouts that is so challenging when you do it (with good form and taking your time) that you have to take some breaks throughout and really focus on using your core (and not letting your body slack just because you’re tired…because I’ve found that’s when I tweak things).
When done just right, it works your entire core hard, and I thought it was pretty satisfying. I completed the following circuit three times, which took me about 22 minutes, so let’s say each round through takes approximately 8 minutes.
Newer exercises that I haven’t shared on here before include: kettlebell 3-point extensions, alternate heel touches, and frog situps. All can be found in my exercise guide with video demonstrations.
