“Ice Cream” for Breakfast

October 16, 2012 by Katie

For the longest time, I’ve been wanting to try the frozen banana ice cream concoction I mentioned in my Weird Foods You Need to Try post quite awhile ago. This morning I was trying to think of something fun to make, and after finding a bunch of frozen banana slices, I knew exactly what to do. I just kind of winged it and threw it all in the food processor, and it turned out really well!

With bananas, Greek yogurt, and other randomness, it turns out to be a pretty healthy indulgence. See the recipe below:

Chocolate Peanut Butter Soft Serve

Chocolate Peanut Butter Soft Serve is a healthy alternative to ice cream. It has a base of frozen banana and is whipped together with some goodness for a tasty treat!

Ingredients:

  • 2 T Greek yogurt
  • 1 T peanut butter
  • 1 T honey
  • 1 T cocoa powder
  • 1 banana, sliced and frozen

Instructions:

  1. Blend together in a food processor until thoroughly mixed and creamy.

It’s as simple as that. Hope you enjoy it!

Good question! Just added them up, and I believe it is around 290 — I suppose it depends on the brands you use, but that’s a rough estimate.
