Hocus Pocus Workout

October 15, 2018 by Katie

The older I get, the more I love Halloween. Not only is it during the gorgeous fall season, but it’s packed with so many fun, themed activities! From corn mazes and haunted houses to trick-or-treaters and ghost stories, there’s just so much going on in October that really get you in the mindset of All Hallows’ Eve.

While I’m not a big Halloween movie fanatic, there are a couple that I will always watch at this time of year. Hocus Pocus is at the top of that list!

I’ve already watched it once this yearโ€”you know, for research purposes for this post. I was actually inspired to create a workout for Hocus Pocus based off a drinking game I stumbled across recently. I figured…pretty much any drinking game could be a themed workout, if you think about it. So over this past weekend, I popped in my DVD and put together a little routine based on various happenings throughout the movie.

It’s pretty straightforward. If you’re even in doubt of whether something happened or not in the movie, I erred on the side of just do the exercise.

The workout isn’t too intense, by any means, (though you might resent Thackary like I did for yelling out to Emily a million times in the beginning) but I thought it was a nice way to mix things up and move around instead of sinking into the couch. As soon as I found myself starting to relax, a new event happened that required me to get up and moving.

If you plan to watch Hocus Pocus this Halloweenโ€”or really any festive movieโ€”I encourage you to turn it into a workout! Let me know if you try this one and how you liked it!

What’s your favorite Halloween movie?

Will you be dressing up in a costume this year?
