Good morning! Is anyone else still in a food coma? We had our second Thanksgiving yesterday, and it was a glorious time with good food and good people. Today, we’re back in San Diego to recover from a week of traveling and being with family. Looking back at this past week, I’m reminded of the many reasons why I’m so blessed in life. There are so many things I’m thankful for, and as mentioned in Wednesday’s Thanksgiving favorites post, I’m trying to actively recognize these things every day. Although the holiday is technically over, I wanted to dedicate a post to what I’m most thankful for.
Warning: slightly mushy post ahead.
1. Spending time with family.
This is always the first thing I think of when asked what I’m thankful for. It never ceases to amaze me how amazing my support system is, and the fact we’re stuck together forever? I couldn’t ask for more.
2. Marrying my main squeeze in five months.
Eeee! The wedding day is fast approaching! I still can’t believe sometimes that this is happening, and I’m so grateful I met this guy at the most unexpected time during college.
3. Living in such a beautiful place.
Living in San Diego was definitely not in my plans, but it’s just where life took Matt and me. Although we may not be here forever, it’s a fun adventure, and I know someday we’ll look back and miss so many aspects of this place (e.g. breweries, beach, and a happening city nearby).
4. Being in generally good health.
Sounds silly sometimes, but I’m learning health is something we shouldn’t take advantage of. Sure, we have little problems here or there (and big ones for some), but there is pretty much always someone who is in a worse place who is making more out of their life. Never forget how lucky you are to have your health, or at least to not be worse off than you currently are.
5. All the little things.
Rainy days, fuzzy blankets, a basil plant that doesn’t die…you know, it’s the little things sometimes.
This post is featured in the Friday Five linkup hosted by Mar, Courtney, and Cynthia.

A basil plant that doesn’t die is definitely something to be thankful for! Lol. I kill all my plants… so I’d be happy for that! So exciting that you’re only 5 months away from wedding day! 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!
