A Weekend of New Life

July 1, 2013 by Katie

Workouts Friday: Matt and I went to a nearby college’s track to challenge ourselves and test how in shape we are. The verdict? He’s good; I’m not so much… The rest of the weekend: I took as rest days because since Friday morning I’ve felt sick–perhaps a cold coming on? Not quite sure, but it needs…

My Blogging Confession

June 28, 2013 by Katie

As you may have noticed by now, I am not always the healthiest person. I discuss my love for such foods as gumballs, cereal, and cookies on a blog called Gettin’ My Healthy On. Yes, I have realized this. No, I do not believe the word “healthy” is a synonym of “sugar”. [Source] I started…

An Excessive Number of Weekend Pics

June 24, 2013 by Katie

We had a fun-filled, touristy weekend with my sister and brother-in-law. I’m just dropping in to share about 500 pictures, and by 500 I mean 14. Hope you enjoy them! Friday Saw and smelled some seals. Made friends with some squirrels. Played in the water – or, the boys did. Not quite sure what they’re…

June 10, 2013 by Katie

We laid low for the weekend, so I don’t have much excitement to report back. I do, however, have a few pictures to share.

Oh, Sweet Relief!

May 27, 2013 by Katie

First off, Happy Memorial Day! Are you celebrating today?! We kind of did last night and did a bit of grilling. By the way, corn on the cob is the bee’s knees. (I don’t think I’ve ever used that expression before.) Oh, and we were feeling rebellious and drank white wine instead of red with…

Currently

May 20, 2013 by Katie

We did it! We did the 20-mile run/bike to the bay and back! And by 20-mile I mean 16-mile. Matt’s guestimate was off by 2 miles each way. I was soooo disappointed—not. It actually went really well! I ran 8 miles there while he biked, and we switched on the way back. The hills made…

This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

May 13, 2013 by Katie

In the words of Mrs. Doubtfire, HellOOOOOOOOOOO! I hope you had a great weekend. I did absolutely nothing on Friday, which turned into an impromptu rest day… On Saturday, I attended a baby shower via Skype. Awkward? Oh yeah. Worth it? Yes yes yes. I miss those people. And to end the day, I decided…

I Did Something Stupid on Saturday

April 29, 2013 by Katie

I registered for the Camp Pendleton World Famous Mud Run 10k. Thanks to a Living Social deal for half off this race, Matt and I both signed up for the race June 9th. It’s 6.2 miles of obstacles and mud and marines. Basically, I’m really excited yet so scared. Here’s the video they have on…

An Important Question for You

April 8, 2013 by Katie

Last night, Matt and I came across a serious dilemma… Mac ‘n’ cheese on the pizza or on the side? Kraft shapes were on sale for $0.89 yesterday, so I threw four boxes a box in the cart. Dinner was the usual lazy Sunday night frozen pizza. Matt decided he wanted some of Monster’s Inc…

The Pinterest Effect

October 8, 2012 by Katie

The Weekend Guess what I spent all day Saturday doing… …building shelves! I pulled out my awesome sister/sister-in-law card and helped with some home improvement for my sis and bro-in-law’s new house. From 11am to 8pm, I was diligently painting and building. The combination of doing the dumbbell workout that morning plus working on shelves…

And So It Begins

August 10, 2012 by Katie

Hello, blogging world! I’ve been considering starting a healthy living blog for quite awhile now. About a year or so ago, I discovered a few running and fitness blogs and became slightly obsessed ever since. I figured…if I love writing a blog anywhere as much as I love reading them, maybe this could be a…
