Creative Ways to Remake Thanksgiving Leftovers

November 23, 2012 by Katie

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Before I get into the Thanksgiving talk, here’s what today’s workout looks like: Workout Since I didn’t do my long run on Wednesday, I’m hoping to do  it today. It’s apparently supposed to be like 30 degrees all day and super windy, so I’m not looking forward to that. I…

Pomegranates Are in Season!!!

November 20, 2012 by Katie

Good morning! It’s another warm fall-ish day—aka it’s 9am and already 50 degrees. Good stuff. I’ll be going on a light 4-mile run in the next few hours, and I’m pretty excited. There’s just something about planning to do a short, slow, and chill run that makes it more fun. As for now, I have…

The Weirdest Tan Line Ever

November 19, 2012 by Katie

Happy Thanksgiving Week! Let the overeating…I mean…“responsible” eating begin! I’m pretty pumped to cook up some goodness later this week. I think I even prefer it to actually eating all the goodness. I’m sorry—I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Maybe I’ll change my mind when I see the beautiful pile of food on my…

The Deal with Stretching: Dynamic vs. Static

November 15, 2012 by Katie

IT’S FRIDAY!! This really doesn’t affect me much since I’m just working on freelance work and can do that at anytime, but the fact that it’s the weekend still holds some excitement for some reason. Today’s Workout I’ll be doing some speed work in a 5-mile run outside. I’m holding off on using the treadmill…

A Few of My Favorite Things

November 14, 2012 by Katie

I’m excited! Yesterday, I bought some new running clothes for the colder running weather. I bought the jacket, capris, and then a pair of pants. I don’t buy workout clothes very often, even though I absolutely love them so I’m pretty pumped. Marshalls for the win! I am currently waiting for the sun to heat…

Switching Up the Running Schedule

November 12, 2012 by Katie

First of all… That’s what the thermometer says the temperature is outside. Not cool! The Weekend Over the lovely rainy and windy weekend, I spent time at my sister and bro-in-law’s house because…well…I could. That was basically the reason. I just got back a little bit ago and must get on with my day, even…

Running in the Fall/Winter: 3 Big Concerns

November 9, 2012 by Katie

I’ve been dreading it so much. What happens to my running schedule once it gets freezing and snowy out? It’s actually going to be pretty warm today, but I know the freezing cold is just lurking around fall’s corner. In hopes of calming and preparing my mind, I’ve expressed 3 main concerns I have with…

A Few of My Favorite Things

November 6, 2012 by Katie

Today’s workout was a 16-mi run (time was 2:30). Movin’ on up in the mileage department! And my legs aren’t very thrilled, seeing as how tired they are now. ‘Twas a brisk 40 degrees during my run, and I’m actually starting to like that temperature. It requires a bit warmer clothing, but the air still feels…

I Donated My Hair

November 5, 2012 by Katie

I’ve been looking forward to this past weekend for-EV-ER. You don’t even understand. I enjoyed having really long hair, but it was such a pain. My life just became 10,000 times easier. After having 8” cut off to donate, I decided to take it a step further and get some bangs. Not quite sure how…

Tasty Tuesday: Savory Meatballs

October 30, 2012 by Katie

I made good food last night! And I quote, “These meatballs are amazing!” My father knows exactly what to say to make me smile. In search for a recipe using ground beef last night, I settled on meatballs. The only part of the recipe I cared about was the use of ketchup. Ketchup makes meatloaf…

October 29, 2012 by Katie

Before I get into our adventures from Halloween, here’s a quick look at today’s workout: I ran 8 miles in 1:10 – AKA 8:45/mile, baby! I’m quite pleased with myself. By the time I got to those 8 miles, I felt like I should just keep running to reach 15 (my goal long run distance for…
