Happy Day After Thanksgiving! And Black Friday! And National Cranberry Day! (Head over to my cranberry recipes roundup if you need some inspo for how to celebrate that holiday, at the very least.)
I’ve been soaking up the start to this long holiday weekend, as well as spending some quality time with my main squeeze (and my in-laws for an early celebration last weekend). Since most people are probably relaxing or fighting the crowds at stores today (unless you were one of the unlucky ones who didn’t get off work today), I’m keeping today’s post short and sweet.
Although Thanksgiving is officially over (but not the leftovers quite yet…AWW YISS), I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to the spirit of gratitude that the holiday inspires. So before we head into the weekend and start focusing on solely Christmas (or whatever December holidays you celebrate), here are some wise words from Maya Angelou:
“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.” It sounds simple, but I think we all forget to be in the moment and practice gratitude on a daily basis. So stop dwelling on the past and worrying about what comes nextโjust soak up the wonderfulness of now. There’s a lot to be thankful for!
