Aww yissโI have officially been blogging for 5 whole years! …and then some because I totally forgot the anniversary when it happened 3 weeks ago. Granted, I forgot last year, too, so it’s been a year since then. I’m really good at this haha.
The fact I’ve been blogging for 5 years feels like a big deal to me because a lot has happened in my life throughout that time. I’ve learned SO much about blogging and having a website, and I still have so much left to learn. Somehow, I’ve managed to write 787ย riveting blog posts. ๐
In regards to how this blog has changed, at first I shared a lot of unorganized nonsense in 3-4 blog posts per week, and a major focus of this blog was running and me dabbling in healthy cooking (with horrific photos to document this; I’m sorry).
After a year or two, I switched it up a bit so this wasn’t as personal and had more direction, with more running-related topics. After another year or so,ย I had to update the general theme again because IT Band Syndrome ruined running forever for me, so I put a much heavier focus on healthy recipes, with a side of fitness and general wellness. These changes in blog direction run parallel to how I practice “healthy living” in my own life.

I’d say Gettin’ My Healthy On has grown up a bit over the years. My goal is for it to be a resource of inspiration for people interested in healthy living. I’ve also been adding much more personal reflection with inspirational quotes to motivate others as well. Throughout it all, my goal has always been to use my own voice (read: sarcasm) and never take myself too seriously. So I hope it’s a refreshing little read for you 2-3 times every week.
Now, let’s ignore the first 4 years, shall we? Year 5. I’ve shared a boatload of recipes and health-related topics. I don’t plan these too far ahead because I want to write what I care about in the present. You can bet 95% of the posts I write are thoughts I’ve had within days of them being published.
