As I was going through my pictures from the past few days, I realized they all have a little fail thrown in. Call it a pessimistic post if you wish. I find each one more funny than anything.
Fail #1
No flash on my camera. Like I mentioned Wednesday, Matt and I went downtown for his birthday. (I took a picture of us but had no idea what it looked like until 2 minutes ago when I lightened the picture.) We just hung out at 2 different bars and talked about our feelings. And by talked about our feelings, I mean we just hung out and eventually played Jenga, which was at the second bar.
Fail #2
No vase = find an empty wine bottle. (Okay, so there’s a little bit of a win in there too. Yay resourcefulness!) Matt participated in the Valentine’s Day hubbub and bought me some roses. ‘Twas definitely unexpected because he isn’t a fan of the holiday. Although I’m indifferent about the holiday, I definitely enjoy getting flowers.
Fail #3 and 4
Heart-shaped foods looking not-so-heart-shaped. There was too much pizza dough to make an attractive heart, so I made more of a round one. It got the point across though. I cut pepperoni into hearts, and that actually worked out really well. However, the 2 slices of bacon I threw on top didn’t work out as well because they fell out of their heart formation. I actually kind of enjoyed how weird it all looked though. Made it more interesting.
Fail #5
Tall, plastic glasses tip easily. If you weren’t already aware, we are a classy couple and like to buy our fancy glasses at the dollar store. After not finding any glass champagne flutes there, I opted for 2 plastic ones. Unfortunately, they’re a bit top heavy, causing us both to spill a few times last night. I already spill liquids way too often, so you can imagine how much I had to focus whenever I picked my glass up last night.
Fail #6
The bacon roses didn’t exactly look like flowers. Plus, they were raw in the middle. I guess people post directions for a reason. I looked at the pictures on the tutorial and just kind of did my own thing. I was somehow able to make them resemble roses for a picture, but for the most part, they looked like balls of bacony weirdness. Also, the raw center wasn’t exactly the best.
Fail #7
I started my run yesterday with a low GPS watch battery and a low iPod battery. I’ve come to rely on my GPS watch when I run because I like to see my pace and distance. At some point during mile 2 of yesterday’s run, it had stopped working because of the low battery. Therefore, I stopped soon after because I couldn’t handle not knowing how far I went. The iPod lasted me those 3 miles, but it would have died pretty soon if my GPS watch actually would have kept working. Needless to say, I should probably charge my electronic devices more than once every few weeks.
Fail #8
Candy has been a main food group of mine lately. Thanks to Matt’s birthday on Wednesday, I am now exposed to an insane amount of candy. A few of his coworkers got him a piñata, and it was jam-packed with the best candy. He decided to be awesome and bring some home for me, and let me tell you…I’ve put a pretty good dent in it… (I may or may not be eating Sour Patch Kids at the moment.)
Fail #9
It’s noon, and I still haven’t worked out. Having time to do nothing is not good for me. I take full advantage of it and am lazy. On that note…
I’m going to leave now and do my 35 Minute HIIT Tabata Workout that I made ages ago.
Fail #10
I couldn’t come up with a 10th Fail.
Have a great weekend!
What did you do for Valentine’s Day?
I suppose I should mention I had at least one win last night. I made chocolate-covered strawberries, and they were delish!
Have you ever attempted anything on Pinterest that was a massive fail?
Helloooooooo, bacon roses and bacon hearts.
Do you have exciting weekend plans?
Chyea! We’re going downtown again tonight to meet up with some friends for Matt’s birthday (I think that’s the excuse for going out at least). Tomorrow we’re planning to go rock climbing and then tour a brewery because it’s close by. Can’t wait!

Haha, I love this! Sometimes you can focus on the failtures. It’s okay!
I died when I read “balls of bacony weirdness.” One of my friends actually did the bacon roses for her husband and he put it on FB. They looked perfect! And apparently she got fake roses or something and attached them somehow? It was unreal. I want to try it, but I know I’ll mess it up too! I am so bad with crafts sometimes.
I hate when my iPod is low or dead when i go for a run. It’s the ultimate de-motivator for me. Ugh!
Hope you have a fail-free weekend 🙂

Haha thanks! The tutorial I used showed fake roses where you take off the actual flower and are left with just the stem to put the bacon on. It looks pretty awesome, but I just used spinach leaves because it’s all I had. It got the job done, I suppose.

Cute post! Sometimes you have to fail in order to succeed, but using the wine bottle as a vase is a totally awesome idea! I think the roses look great in it 🙂

Thanks! I agree. 🙂

Oh! I also use a wine bottle for a vase! Very nice :0)

Nice! It works much better than I thought it would.

Chocolate covered strawberries definitely counteracts any “fails” you had!
