Christmas Cookie Decorating + Hoo Rag Review

December 17, 2012 by Katie

Guess what’s in 8 days. CHRISTMAS! Crazy crazy crazy. December seems to be flying by. You know what’s even crazier? If all goes according to plan, I’ll be on the long road to California in 18 days, moving my life there in my little car. AND THEN I’ll be running a marathon in 48 days.

Coincidentally, the number 8 seems to be magical in my life today.

Workout

Instead of continuing with the trend of 8’s today, I ran 9.03 miles today at a 8:48 pace (woo!). I think I’m starting to enjoy 35 degree-weather because it felt wonderful today during the run.

Christmas Cookie Decorating

My Sunday was spent decorating Christmas cookies with some crazy girls and rowdy boys.

Needless to say, it was a good time. Here are a few horrible pictures of our mini works of art this year:

As you can tell, we take our cookie decorating very seriously. The most inappropriate bizarre creative are usually the boys’ doing, Honey BooBoo snowman and Patrick the star[fish] included.

Now, I am facing a Monday full of withdrawals from my most favorite people in the world—aka the people I call my family. On the plus side, Christmas is coming up so there’s more of that goodness to come!

Moving onto some more coolness I’ve been experiencing lately…

Hoo Rag Review

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a company that was new to me: Hoo Rag. At first I didn’t think their unique product was something I’d use much, but that’s before I discovered the versatility of the bandana-like cloth.

So, “What’s a Hoo Rag?” you ask. It’s basically a million products in one tubular bandana. And by a million, I mean as many as you can come up with in addition to the 8 they have displayed on their site.

I felt quite innovative when I started using mine in a way that wasn’t on their site—as an ear warmer headband (aka the picture above in the workout section of this post). I folded it several times until it was the width I wanted to cover my ears while running when it’s a bit chilly out. It offers a bit of protection from the wind and chilly winter weather.

I also used it as a headband on my treadmill run on Saturday, and I forgot all about it until I looked in the mirror after. It doesn’t feel super tight at all and conveniently stays in place during lots of movement.

They generously offered me the Groovy-Hoo to try out. I love the design and probably would have picked out the same one myself. There’s quite the variety of rags to choose from and even more ways in which you can wear them. From runners to chefs to dogs, I’d say the Hoo Rag is the epitome of a multi-functional product.

If you’re interested in checking them out, go to HooRag.com and see what it’s all about!

Disclaimer: I was sent the Hoo Rag for free to review. All opinions are my own.

Have you ever heard of or tried a Hoo Rag? What did you think?

Do you decorate Christmas cookies?

I’m a sucker for baked goods and decorating. From here on out, I’m going to start decorating cookies for every little holiday. I’m looking at you Groundhog Day.

Well, it’s nice to see I’m improving, even if it is slowly! Keep pushing, and you’ll be there before you know it. 🙂

Groundhog’s Day is the best. You should probably do that.

It really is! I thought of you when I said that. There will be groundhog-shaped cookies and wedding-themed cookies in memory of your engagement. 🙂
