Happiest of Wednesdays to you! This week has been going pretty fast, and this month has gone even faster.
April will no doubt be an…interesting…month for us. The main reason? We’re moving! Except it’s not really a happy thing, because our landlord wants to move into his house, which means we need to set up camp elsewhere. So! Fingers crossed we find a decent place soon so we can get this party started.
I’m dreading looking for a place, transporting our stuff, and the potential area we may end up. However, I’m weirdly excited to start packing, possibly have a shorter commute to work, and set up our little home in a new place. 🙂 So we shall see what happens! I’m feeling optimistic.
Before I dive into the month of April, I’m sharing some of the things I’ve been loving throughout March.
These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
Morning Workouts – A couple weeks ago I took a couple of my LiveFit workouts off and knew I was headed down a slippery slope. To help myself get back on track ASAP, I decided to begin working out in the morning. I had no idea I’d be able to keep up with it like I have, but it has made SUCH a massive difference in my workout motivation. When I get home from work, working out is the last thing I want to do. So I’ve found going back to morning workouts like I used to do back in the day was the magical solution to my slacking. Unfortunately, that requires me to wake up at 4 a.m. every morning to make it to work on time, so this girl has been going to bed at about 9 p.m. every night. :’( Bittersweet.
Reversing Honey Crystallization – Pretty sure I’ve never mentioned this food hack before, so it’s time. I don’t know if it’s because our house has been cold the past few months or what, but our honey has been crystallizing at an obnoxious rate. I’ve been setting it out in the sun every day until it became liquid enough to put in a jar for later. (Buying honey in bulk doesn’t always workout as planned.) But ya, just FYI: the sun works WONDERS on that solidified honey. And since—fun fact—honey never expires, this is a great way to gradually warm it to reverse the hardening effects of time.
Food Prep Trash Bowl – This is a weird “favorite” to share, but it has made my meal prep so much better. Usually as I cut up veggies and prepare food, I throw things away and clean off my cutting board as needed. But I’ve learned that having one container to dump all the scraps as I go eliminates a lot of the back-and-forth of going to the trashcan every 5 seconds. Do it. It’s so helpful.
Maybelline Eye Liner – I don’t usually share beauty products because I’m not exactly a beauty blogger over here, but this is one of those products I’ve had forever and would totally buy again. I love eye liner, though I rarely wear it. But when I do, it’s usually this stuff because I love how it goes on, and it creates a nice boldness to my lash line. It’s a tiny little jar, but it lasts for-ev-er, which is apparent by the lid and brush (that comes with the gel) because they’re caked in crap from my makeup bag.
Hand Stamped Vintage Spoon – I received this cute, hand-stamped spoon as part of a General Mills cereal campaign, and it was the best surprise ever. The silverware is made by an Etsy store, which you can find at SweetMintHandmade. In addition to having my own little customized spoon for my blog, I was thinking that a spreading knife would make for a great part of a housewarming gift.
Something Good by Alt J – I’ve been hooked on this album, especially this song lately.
Aquafor – Once upon a time, I gave myself a lip allergy, and now I can’t wear any lip products ever. Not even any chapstick. It’s pretty fun…not. I developed this allergy because I used to use chapstick nonstop. Ugh! TMI, my lips are constantly peeling unless I wear this Aquaphor healing ointment. It works WONDERS, which is why I have a travel-sized tube of this everywhere. It’s the gentlest moisturizer, and I highly recommend it, whether you have sensitive skin or not. (It’s what my dermatologist recommended; and for my allergy, she said I would probably react even to the Aquaphor Lip Repair.)
Too Young to Know by Jessie James Decker – I usually don’t like country music, but there are random musicians I love (usually country-pop, like Carrie Underwood and this woman). This is one of my favorites from JJD’s new EP.
Taco Bell Hot Sauce – Or as I like to call it, salsa. I’ve always loved Taco Bell’s hot sauce packets. Then we found it at our grocery store in a jar, and there’s no turning back for me. What’s even better? Despite the fact this is from a fast food chain, it has a shockingly simple ingredient list and is even—wait for it—Whole 30 approved. Whaaaa? It’s crazy….delicious.
Incubus Concert – There are two bands I have been dying to see in concert: Incubus and Foo Fighters. Well Matt and I went to a Foo Fighters concert last year (nothing short of AWESOME), and pretty soon, I’ll get to go to my #1: Incubus! Yassssss.
