A Few of My Favorite Things

June 3, 2015 by Katie

So Matt and I have the same phone (Samsung Galaxy S5), and he’s been really into the S Health app that’s already on there. I used it for the first time yesterday and highly enjoyed it.

It’s interesting to see how many steps you walk (working from the couch all day / not carrying your phone with you much makes for a sad step count), calories you’ve consumed, sleep patterns (which I entered manually since I don’t have the fancy wristband), and more. Below you can also see my heart rate as I was “resting” – aka vegging out on the couch – as well as the amount of water I had had by about 8 pm last night. S Health App Most people probably wouldn’t care enough to update this throughout the day, but I still found it kind of fun for some really weird reason. Yay monitoring health-related things! …sure!

Keep reading for my latest favorites.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Julienne Peeler – I mentioned in my paleo diet recap that I made zoodles (aka zucchini noodles), and the below device is how I did so. Although, I’m paranoid I’m going to cut myself because it’s quite sharp and amazing, I’d highly recommend this tool for anyone else wanting vegetable noodles without a fancy spiralizer device. (I bought this one from Precision Kitchenware.)

Zoodler
Chopped Greek Kale Salad – T minus 4 days until I’m on the Mediterranean diet for my experiment dealio! This is one of the recipes I’ve found online, and I can’t wait to try it out. Yummm. Upcycled Cheap Door Mirror – Our walls are still quite bare, despite moving in over six months ago. Since I can’t figure out what to put on the walls, I really liked the idea of fancying up one of those cheap wall mirrors that you can find pretty much everywhere.

Denial About an Injury – Sounds about right. Balsamic Caprese Chicken – I’m always looking for ways to spruce up chicken breasts, and I’m all about the Caprese goodness, so I’m excited to try this recipe out!
