I’ve got a healthy recipe for you this morning, and it’s way past due.
I go on smoothie kicks every once in awhile, usually drinking them as either a meal replacement or post-workout recovery drink. They’re all pretty similar, using some combination of fruit, spinach, and yogurt. I rarely share the recipes, though, since they ARE so similar. This one seemed worthy of a blog post because it was especially tasty, thanks to the fresh cranberries I never used over the holidays, and filling, thanks to the chia seeds.
I felt like getting fancy, so I drank it out of a martini glass because why not?!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 frozen banana
- Handful spinach
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/3 cup cranberries
- 1/3 cup blueberries
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 3/4 cup water (or another liquid)
Instructions:
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
If you have a crazy awesome blender, you might not need the extra liquid, but I find it’s always necessary to get things moving. Hope you enjoy the recipe if you end up making it!
What are your favorite ingredients to throw in smoothies?
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
Despite the cold, I have been ALL about the smoothies lately. This sounds great! I’ve never used cranberries in a smoothie before. Did you use fresh or frozen blueberries & cranberries?
Katie says
Both were frozen. The cranberries were fresh like 2 months ago, but I threw them in the freezer so they wouldn’t go bad.
