Matt is leaving me today to go home for a week, which makes me sad / I’m really excited. Guess what I’m going to be doing all weekend…
- Watching trashy TV – lots of celebrities, drama, and other guilty pleasures
- Eating weird and healthy meals – that he would never eat
- Starting lots of craft projects – who knows if I’ll finish any
- Working on blog stuff – and spending way too much time on it
That’s kind of the theme for this favorites post—the awesomeness that will go down over the next 6 days. That’s the plan at least. Who knows? I might just eat cereal for dinner every night and watching Friends all weekend. Both options would be enjoyable.
These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
Vegetarian Dinner: Black Bean and Brown Rice Burgers. I’ve had this on a Pinterest board for ages, and I’m thinking I’ll finally try it out. I’ve had vegetarian burgers before and thought they were really good, so hopefully this one proves to be as well!
Breakfast: Broiled Grapefruit. Has anyone ever tried this? It intrigues me. I rarely even have grapefruit, but word on the street is fruit is delicious when grilled, fried, and perhaps broiled.
Guilty Snack: Fried (Baked) Pickles. Pickles are the jam. Fried pickles are the fried jam, especially when they’re not actually fried. This is something Matt would actually eat, but I’m thinking I’ll have to try it out even though he’ll be gone. YUM!
Cheap Decor: Faux Metal Wall Art. This is another one I’ve had on a Pinterest board for a long time. I love the way metal art pieces like this look. I also love making cool-looking art with super cheap supplies. Guess what this one’s made out of…toilet paper rolls! Click on the name above to check out the tutorial.
DIY Jewelry: Pearl and Hemp Bracelet. I love the way the pearls and hemp look together. It’s lowers the fancy level but is still classy and cute.
Healthy Side: No Mayo Coleslaw. I heart coleslaw, but I hate mayo. I bought some cabbage recently and need some exciting ways to use it. I’m thinking I’ll try this one out. Suuuuper healthy. Love the crunchiness.
Questions for you:
What do you do when you get the house to yourself? Live in your sweats? Catch up on some trashy TV? Read 500 books?
Are you crafty? What craft have you done that you’re most proud of?

ok, i’ve gotta try the black bean and brown rice burger. I”ve tried the Roca burgers, but they just don’t cut it for me. Maybe this will do the trick 😉
Thanks!
