*Meeting a Goal! I met my goal of running 80 miles in a month! Throughout the month of September, my shoes actually experienced 85.17 miles worth of running. Now the goal is 100 miles in a month so we’ll see how long that takes. If you want to check out my workout log to make sure I’m not lying about the mileage, I post it here everyday.
*Laziness > Working Out. This entire past weekend I was such a lazy bum. It wasn’t cool. I took Saturday as an off day, which was legit, but yesterday I kept stalling a workout. Of course it never happened. That’s why this morning I planned to workout really soon after waking up. As the day goes on, things tend to come up, and working out somehow gets phased out. That’s why I have to do it in the morning, even though it tends to be more enjoyable late afternoon when I’m actually awake. Oh well. Gotta do what ya gotta do!
*Father/Daughter Bonding. Yesterday, my father and I did some bonding. He’s a big outdoor-lover and enjoys hunting and fishing. I like doing both as well, but I don’t get to very often. So, I was pretty excited to be able to spend the day with him, practicing shooting! I’ve never gone hunting—maybe someday—but shooting I do once in a great great while. Plus, I feel all tough with the nice bruise forming on my shoulder today. My arms are pretty sore too. I guess you could say I got a little workout yesterday after all?
*Blisters. Prepare for some TMI. I’m so glad it’s getting cold out. I have what you might call ”running feet,” but I always wear flip flops anyways because it’s so much easier to not care. Thankfully, now there’s more of a need wear real shoes, and the world doesn’t have to endure the sight of my “weathered” feet. I asked my sister if she thought my feet were presentable for a get-together Saturday night, and she basically told me … no. Her bluntness is so refreshing and funny sometimes. (Still wore my flip flops though.) Don’t worry—no pics for this randomness.
*Halloween. I have such issues with Halloween every year. Dressing up is my favorite, but my costume always sucks. This year I finally just committed to something (that I originally said was my backup). Now, I’m super excited because I’m acquiring the various parts of the costume and should be totally prepared. Last year I did a couples costume with Matt. He was Linus and I was Sally. For some reason I couldn’t even remember my name, when people asked though. It’s more fun when you actually remember who you are. Plus, I kind of sewed my own dress, and it was pretty unattractive. I like making my own costumes because 1. it’s way cheaper, 2. it’s unique, and 3. it’s more…fun? Well, this year it will be. I’m not sewing this year though. I learned my lesson. Instead, I’m just assembling different parts for the overall look. Finally, I can enjoy dressing up again! Got the first part of my costume on Saturday. Here’s a little hint of my costume:

*Wraps. They’re my go-to lunch. I had this mountain of veggies for lunch today, and it was a good time. Okay, I realize today isn’t part of the weekend, but I felt the need to share my impressive stacking abilities. When I make a wrap, I basically just make a salad and put it on a whole wheat tortilla/wrap that is entirely too small. It’s one of those things where, once you pick it up, you cannot set it back down or chaos ensues. On this wrap in particular, there is a pepper jack cheese wedge. green pepper, mushroom, turkey lunchmeat, broccoli, tomato, and spinach. Any fresh veggie I can find goes into it. Sadly, all the avocado is gone. That’s the best part usually.
Are a goal setter? What are some of your goals?
I’ve never written down goals, really. They’re all just in my head as things I’d like to do. I figured I’d try something new and actually make a list to check things off of. Feels pretty good so far!
How do you motivate yourself to workout on the weekends?
Do you like to dress up for Halloween? Do you make your own costume or buy one?
I used to just wear the same costumes year after year, but now I’m all about being creative and coming up with new ones. Unfortunately, I usually fail at this…
