Bring a saucepan of water to a boil. Add the green beans, and cook until they start to become tender but are still slightly crispy. Drain and rinse with cold water.
In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sliced almonds. Cook until the garlic and almonds begin to brown.
Pat the green beans slightly dry. Pour the green beans into the skillet with the almonds and garlic. Cook for a couple minutes until warm, stirring occasionally. Add lemon juice and add salt and pepper to taste.
